a childhood dream realized

Tonight was the one-year anniversary of the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line and I was working backstage. Not such a big deal, really...but tell that to my 8 year-old self who would rent that movie and watch it 5 times over the course of the weekend! She would be so impressed by the worldly and glamorous life I lead.

Hey don't downplay the coolness of this moment! My 8 year old self realized her dream the first time my 27 year old self slammed her fist down on the courtroom table, stood up, and said, "YOUR HONOR, I OBJECT!" That's about as dorky as it gets...but it was still cool!

no downplaying here! my 8 year old self is alive and well. maybe a little disappointed that i'm not an egyptologist, though. and wondering what the hell i'm doing in alaska.

8? I still want to link arms and kick up my legs. And thank god i'm not what i thought I wanted to be..."a secretary" ???!! I just wanted unlimited access to stamps, stickers, pens, label makers and other such cool office supplies...maybe it’s related to where I am now, but I’ve upgraded.

At one point I wanted to be "waitress". Inspired, I think by sassy Flo on Mel's Diner.
