august 24

one of my most exciting food moments last summer was preparing and eating a watermelon, tomato, and feta salad on labor day. it was my first time enjoying watermelon with salty and savory and was such a revelation. pete doesn't care for melons so the big one i picked up at the farmer's market this weekend is entirely my responsibility. i ate a quarter of it today for lunch...big slices sprinkled with sea salt. if you've never put salt on watermelon, go do it right now and then thank me later.
