did you blow the eggy part out of the egg? i always wanted to do that but it seems hard. S. just informed me it's not at all. the painting part probably is. good thing Pete is such an artist.

she's right...it's not hard. for some reason, peter insisted that we use ink and not paint to decorate eggs this year so that's what we did. but then i didn't like how a few turned out so i covered them in glitter. wait till i take a picture of the "branch" he cut for our egg tree. bigger than some xmas trees. what a weirdo.

This post just made me realize that my earliest memory of making something with my grandmother was when I helped her blow the contents out of eggs so that she could make these christmas tree ornaments where she cut a little piece out of the shell and made a sort of diarama inside that was Christmas-themed. She used to make dozens of them every year and sell them at our church's "Craft Bazaar," and it was such a big deal that she let me help her. Wow...I'd totally forgotten about that until now. Crazy.
